6 Ways to Prep for Your First Baby Show

Julianne Martin 2016-05-28

Baby shows are recurring events that are meant for parents and future parents to find answers to their questions and to discover new products and accessories created for their children. However, baby shows can gather so many exhibitors that it might be difficult to find what you are looking for.

If you don’t want to feel overwhelmed the next time you attend a baby show, here are some tips to help you make the most of a day spent at one of these amazing events.

1. Find a baby show to attend

You can start by searching online for baby shows in your area. Find one that you can attend, and mark the date on your calendar or in your agenda to make sure you don’t forget it. Next, browse through the website of the baby show you are interested in.

Learn more about the exhibitors who will be present, and make a list of those you would like to visit. On that list, mark the exhibitors that you absolutely don’t want to miss, as this will help you make the most of your time spent at the baby show. On The Babytime Show website, there is a section where you can identify the exact structure, so you will be able to prepare your schedule in advance.

You can also check out the baby shows held in the past by watching the below YouTube video:

 2. Prepare your questions in advance

Baby shows are the perfect occasion to meet with pregnancy experts, birth experts and sleep experts. If you have any questions or concerns about your pregnancy or about the behavior of your toddler, you could write them down in a notebook or in your phone.

When you can finally meet experts, you will know exactly what to ask them and you will be able to quickly get clear and helpful answers to your questions. This will leave you more time to enjoy the other activities of the baby show.

 3. Bring along the whole family

Baby shows are not just for parents and future parents. Kids should be able to find plenty of things to enjoy as well. Many baby shows feature contests, games, and sing-along and dance shows where children can have fun with their favorite TV characters like Dora the Explorer!

 4. Get answers to your questions

When you get to the baby show, start by visiting the booths of pregnancy, birth and sleep experts to ask them your questions. Whether you need help to prepare for the birth of your baby, or you are concerned about the nutrition or the sleep habits of your toddler, experts are there for you.

After you have found answers to your questions, you will be able to visit the rest of the baby show with your peace of mind.

 5. Learn more about the services offered to parents

Baby shows welcome many exhibitors that are there to present their baby and toddler products, but many of them are there to present their services to parents. Photographers, pre-natal and post-natal massage therapists, financial institutions and many more are there to pamper you or to simplify your life as a parent.

Learn more about the services you are interested in, and get all the information and contact information you need.

 6. Do some shopping

If you are decorating the bedroom of your future baby or if your young children need new clothes, a baby show is the perfect place to find everything that is on your shopping list. You will be able to shop for items you need, but also to discover new amazing products and to speak with retailers and manufacturers.

Start by shopping for what your family needs, and then, take some time to walk around the different booths and enjoy learning more about the latest baby clothing, food and accessories the baby show has to offer. For more information, BabyCenter has a must-have list of all the essential items during your first year.
